Howdy, howdy. Met you in person, so I'm doing things in reverse of my normal social-life standards, and friend you *after* meeting you. Bizarre!

*waves* Hello!

You seem like a nifty person, so I thought to myself, "why not add her as a friend?"

Anyway ... you want to know some things about me. H'kay. For starters, I'm a 21 year old Yooper (someone from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). I'm currently at the end of my junior year in college, majoring in English-writing with a minor in film studies. I'll so find a bit obsessed with four things:
1. Barbra Streisand
2. Robert Redford
3. Sundance Institute
4. The West Wing

I also really like Tina Fey, classic movies, and vinyl records.
I'm not entirely sure what I'd like to do in life (but who does?), but I'd love to work for the Sundance Institute in some way, write screenplays ... etc. I'm kind of dorky and goofy and weird, but most people just accept it. lol

Aw, cool! Sure, I'll friend!

I was an English major/Theatre minor, so English peeps unite! ;) Also going to throw out there that I worked at the Telluride Film Festival one year, two years ago. Not Sundance, but it was...interesting. I've always been much more of a theatre-person than a film-person, but have an appreciation for the latter. =)

Awesome, thanks!

Very cool about Telluride. I went to Sundance this year--the only film festival I've ever attended--and it was beyond amazing.

Hi there!

Firstly, thank you for such a wonderful compliment. That sort of thing really makes my day. To hear not only that you enjoy my writing but also that I've inspired you, wow, really, that's so wonderful to hear. Thank you. <3

I went to check out your profile anyway, and your LJ, and, all the while, I'm thinking, "I've seen this username. Where have I seen this person around LJ?" And then I realized: you wrote those one-sentence fics. =)

Ooh, journalism sounds awesome. (Just out of curiosity, what were your past majors?) You sound lovely. Welcome to my insanity. ;) If you have any questions about me or what I'm talking about in any entry, just ask. =)

Going into college, I was a straight-up International Relations Major, focusing on East Asia. Then I decided to double in Poli-Sci and International Relations. Then I dropped International Relations because I got bored, and kept the Poli-Sci. I realized that wouldn't help e out much if I decided to go to law school, so I became a journalism major, with a focus on American Government, though part of me wants to be a sports journalist. (I was born, raised, and am currently being educated in Kentucky, the love of sports - namely college basketball - runs in our blood)

Well, as someone who's preparing to apply to law school, I've been told by many, many credible people that law school students come from a very large variety of backgrounds and undergraduate disciplines. (I was concerned that my own background would make me unappealing--B.A. English, professional work in theatre and the arts, and now some govt., but very little, but I've been assured that law students/applicants need not be involved in or possess degrees or experience in law-related or government related disciplines. So I honestly wouldn't sweat it too much.) I know you're not asking for it, but I'd always advise people to do what they're passionate about. (Law schools like to see that more than a cookie-cutter resume, I'm also told.) Journalism sounds pretty cool, though. I would love to have an alternate career as a photo journalist myself, but it's one of those things I don't think will ever happen. Just something I think about. Hee. And you'll figure out what you'd like to do eventually ( ... )

Not half because I can't actually remember how I got to your journal. I'm fairly certain it was on a hunt for some CJ/Danny stuff, as I'm prone to do, but mostly I just sort of stumbled upon here and went "Ooh!"

Mostly, I wanted to ask where you got your profile layout/who made it/is it an edit of one of the official ones? Because I'm looking to do up my LJ and... I love this. I think I've seen similar ones before and always liked them. So yeah, if you could point me in the direction of where I could get something similar, I would be very, very grateful.

I also wanted to say that I read your CJ/Danny fics (I'll get around to the others eventually, but right now CJ/Danny just completely fill my brain with mush.) and I love them. Love them. Particularly the one about jam, which has very nearly inspired me to make jam so that I can eat breakfast and have projectile weapons too.

Thanks for just letting me ramble away on here!

Hi there!

This layout is actually a combination of two layouts at thrashmetal. There are some really nice layouts there.

And thank you very much! That's very nice to hear. Comments like that pretty much make my day. =)

No problem! Hope this helped.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I really like the layouts over there - I'd done a community search but not really come up with anything.

Although now I've found two that I like and would like to mix and match, but I only know basic coding and my approach so far has just been to "try it and see!", so we'll see how this goes... :P
