Updates on various fronts:

1. The house just gets neater every day. I finally opened and unpacked a sea of boxes. There is still a months work of unpacking to do but I have 5 usable rooms now. (bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, living room, den/game room/man cave). The other bathroom, office, sunroom and laundry room will just have to wait....and wait... ( Read more... )

Good move on snatching up the neighboring property. That will really add to your privacy (and later resale value) and the creek and rock wall is a huge bonus IMO.

Your place sounds like what I'm aspiring towards eventually--except I want more property and a smaller house/cabin.

You're making out like a bandit. Or a pirate -- a *land* pirate! :)
