Here's hoping everyone is enjoying their 4th of July celebrations! Fairly early this morning (before 10, anyway) someone was lighting off firecrackers and a nearby dog would bark at the sound. The owner was out there too and telling the dog to shut up each time. Personally, I'd rather hear the dog bark than someone yelling 'Shut up!' constantly. But that's just me.
I was pretty lucky when I lived in the city with 4 or 5 Borzoi. They didn't seem to care much, being essentially lazy beasts. At the worst they'd just want to be in the house and go lay down somewhere.

The office where I've been working (and will be again when I get back from this trip) is dog-friendly! It's great. It's in a huge old town house, and every office you poke your head into has a dog or two. Their beds are there, and their water dishes and toys, and they all get along just fine. Lots of the offices have fireplaces, and the dogs love to lie on the cool tiles. It's great fun to go out for a pee/smoke break--dogs pee, humans smoke. I'm going to start taking Spencer when I get home.
I'm out of here tomorrow, so have fun, be good, don't do anything I wouldn't do, and I'll check in when I get back.

Oh, that sounds like a fabulous working environment! My new job is good, but not like that. I hope you have a wonderful time in France. Bon Voyage!

Weird dog.
I've found with my AC - the first few times it hits 90, it takes FOREVER to cool down. But once it's been warm for a bit, it doesn't take as much to cool down. My working, insane theory is that it has to cool everything - not just the air. Windows, walls, etc.
