I saw the Golden Compass yesterday.. And I really rather liked it.

I think the best part about the movie was the anti-religion factor. The first thing the movie tells you is that there are other universes - which basically equates to an alternative explanation as to how we came about... Meaning an alternative to God.

I love the books. I'm still reading the second (yeah ,i thought like you "if they say this is anti-religious... then i'm gonna have to read the books!!") When I was reading the first one i thought that, as i had watched the movie, I wouldn't be surprised, or i wouldn't like it so much. But it did! And i'm having a lot of fun reading. Oh, and Pantalaimon is much cooler on the book! ♥ lol.

I'm agree with you with the "should have been longer". It was a shame, some great stuff (like the last chapters) were cut out.

... can't wait for Daniel in Bond! ♥ SQUEE! lol. It's unexpected, you know, to read that you liked Asriel! o_o I didn't see that coming either! lol.
And as for Eva Green... i was hoping them to see each other. I didn't care if they talked or anything. Together in one shot. That's all i was asking for. Frak.

Mmm when I was in the movie the moment Eva Green came on screen I'm like 'IT's VESPER!!' And everyone's like ..who?
Apparently if they do the other books they will have scenes together...

1. You're very welcome. I think you have a very strong handle on Bond's violence, and I can't wait to see you writing more.

2. Well, I read a few pages of it.. Years ago.. And I remember the scene where she's in the cupboard.. Ok I didn't read the books first. But I plan to now. And I agree with you on the whole stupid-redone-covers-with-movie-promo-shots. The original covers were so much better. Not to mention that Northern Lights is such a better title than the Golden Compass.

3. I've taken a few of those too. First, I was had mouse. *rolls eyes* As if I'd have a mouse! Then I did another one and I either a labrador retriever or a sea lion or a meerkat, then I did another one and I got a snow leopard. I did thhink that was totally awesome, but I don't think I'm.. cold? enough for a snow leopard. So I'd rather something like a lion moreso.
