[ John was, in fact, at a job he'd almost lost on a number of occasions now. Honestly, he wasn't sure why they hadn't fired him yet. He was currently with a patient, yes, although it was more of a check-up than anything else, when he felt his mobile vibrate in his pocket. He considered NOT answering it, but of course, there was the chance it was an emergency. Giving his patient an apologetic smile, and this would only take a moment, he slipped his mobile out of his pocket... and stifled an exasperated sigh. He then considered ignoring it, but with Sherlock, that probably wasn't a good idea. ]

[Sherlock would refute that his boredom definitely was an emergency, thank you very much.
He was not surprised at all at John's reply, and had expected it, in fact.]
Irrelevant. Finish with them and take lunch. My boredom could be fatal if left untreated. SH
[He was certainly much more important than a patient who was probably just a paranoid hypochondriac who could be cured if they'd only stop watching the nightly news.]
[Sherlock huffs at the reply, quickly tapping out a response.]
Me, obviously. I need stimulus. And yes, you are my source of entertainment who is currently not living up to that title. SH
[And yes, maybe he misses him something terrible right now, especially when he uses the word 'pet', which he always loved hearing. He would much rather he was here so he could hear the adoring tone it always took when he used one of his pet names. It had only been a few hours since they had breakfast together, but it still felt like ages.
He realizes a moment later that he needs to apply to John's heartstrings a bit, so he sends another text.]
Please. I miss you. SH
[That admission is still somewhat foreign, but no less true.]

Fatal to you or me? Because I'm not actually your source of entertainment, pet.
