So there's this RL friend that follows my twitter. I say RL but really, we're only casual acquaintances that know each other because she works at my favorite venue and I've been there a thousand times. She knows about fandom and shipping and what not, obviously, since she follows me on twitter. It's not her cup of tea, she thinks it's kind of weird ( Read more... )

GOD I KNOOOOW. Like, it's fine (not really but whatever) if older women are reading it but young girls? Cause I know this is some shit I would have snuck around to read when I was younger. Their poor, poor brains.

Every time I see that damn book on some woman's hand in the train I want to like pat her on the shoulder and be all 'I know, sister, I know that women have been lacking some good erotica for a while, but darling, let me tell you about this thing called the internet...' Based on what I've heard, the snippets I've seen (like this) and the fact that the book was actually based on a Twilight fanfic, I would advice you to just back away.

Yesss, this. Add to that the asshattery of the author who's all pissy about ~~intellectual property or whatever and I just want everyone in the world to stop reading her stuff.

I know how you feel. There are all these older ladies on my mom's facebook reading it and I just want to be like "oh, NO. Let me show you the way, you poor misguided women."

But then I also keep wanting to check myself because I guess it's good that they're not ashamed to be reading a "racy" novel publicly? But DAMN is it terrible. Ugh. Every time the author used "mewled" in the wrong context, I wanted to buy a plane ticket to England so I could personally punch her in the face, WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER BRAIN?

MEWLED? She tried to use MEWLED in a sexy way? Oh, god. For sure never reading these now.

I still have only seen the first Twilight film. I'm okay with that, though. Taylor Lautner reminds me of a llama.

Ugh. There are SO MANY people reading 50 Shades and thinking it's great and it's SO HARD to keep my opinions to myself sometimes. :/

My bro's gf last week asked if I thought she should read it and I was like "please don't" and promised to find her something better (DECENT) to read.

Aw, man, I wish I knew her well enough to slap these out of her hands and guide her to better stories.
