Actually on Day 1, when I was taking a photo of a cosplayer, this couple walked behind me and I heard their convo:

Guy: Eh, wanna take photo of this one?
Girl: Dun wan, dun wan, she's so ugly!! Too ugly!

I was >_>" cause the girl was speaking so loudly! Wah lau eh....

Cosplay events really aren't that much fun anymore I feel, and I don't even cosplay anymore. You have rude photographers, rude gawkers, rude event bouncers, and to be fair, inconsiderate cosplayers too. Not to say, all are rude lah, but seems like the bad experiences are outweighing the good, sighs.

I think people still treat cosplaying like a freak show kind of thing.. which is very sad as many people spend a lot of effort on their costumes. But I believe you still have much fun with friends around, so just try to ignore those rude idiots.

blue_meddy & sakachan: ya, we cosplay for our own but we're viewed as freaks. else others take cosplayers as free promoters, performers etc

that's why i'm always having second thoughts of cosplaying again. the events aren't fun anymore when there's inconsiderate people around.
