Dear lord and father of mankind!? What is it with the current fashion in musical circles of proclaiming how badly produced albums by The Hold Steady are?! I've read this comment in forums, magazines, newspapers and blogs so many times lately that I'm wondering if it's a viral infection

I haven't listened to Hold Steady at all, so my opinions aren't based on them at all, but it sad how music has to be so...processed for it to be released to the public. Really, will these people never perform live? Wouldn't people notice the difference?

I'll add The Hold Steady to your list of "so much music you won't know what to do with it" list. My favourite band on the planet at the moment.

Actually, I'm not sure that pop acts do perform live these days. I was flickin' through the channels the other day and caught a clip of a Rhianna concert and I would bet quite a lot on the fact that she was miming....
