You can't laugh much to his face without upsetting him. Mostly we try to tell him that we don't think he needs to worry about these things. C and I laughed quite a bit later and she said that if she ends up like him in her old age that I should push her off a cliff...

Does he still possess a number of forearms? That's what I'd be worried about; someone that disconnected from reality could kill or injure people over something concerningly normal.

Really, I blame Patty. I don't think he would have gotten like this if he hadn't spent so much time with that old Marine up in WI. And he wouldn't have been out in the country with no one but him for company if P had been willing to "settle" for one of the houses they looked at in town. They had a cool house up there (if stunningly conventional for something you built yourself but, then, well, that's P for you), and wonderful views, but that's not worth your partners' sanity...
