I went on the 23 and me website and I found out that my results had another breakdown. So it specifically broken down some broadly areas to different areas of Asia and Europe. I now know I have Japanese, French, German, British, Irish, and South Asia. This just blows my mind because I literally thought my ancestors were from Europe, China and the ( Read more... )

I think I spent around $60 to $70 on it. You could shop around you may find something cheaper.

Wow! Very interesting. :)

Not quite sure why they throw Germans and French together there, though....

I think they threw the French and Germans together because they are right next to each other. They could possibly have the same blood line. The same with British and Irish.

I wonder back in the era that they started interracial married at the same time between 5 to 8 generations ago. They were all pure blood at that time. Also wondered if there was a war. I wish I knew....

If you asked some Germans and French, I'm quite sure they would not agree, but of course it's true. ;)

Hmm. That would be very interesting to know indeed. :)

I'd really be interested in such a test as well. As far as I know I'm "100%" German, but I totally don't look like it. A lot of people ask me if I'm Spanish or Italian. ;) Would be interesting to know indeed.

Yeah they really broke it down even to the generation to when the person who was 100% was living. Most of them were between the 5 to 8 generation. That was between the 1700s to 1850s. So I wonder what was going on in life back then. Maybe a lot of interracial marriage or wars. They were all at the same time. I wish I knew their story.

I also want to know what the heck is broadly Chinese and Southeast Asian and broadly Japanese and Korean. I mean I definitely know I have Japanese because it’s a category in itself. So does it mean I have Chinese and Korean too but it says broadly? The broadly throws me off that one day I will have to call them and ask them what the heck is broadly? Is it a yes or no? I’m guessing yes I am.
