Well, for those of you reading this...I'd like to unload my inner feelings. Today I learned that I was going to have surgery on my stomach this Friday morning. There are many ifs. There's a worst case scenario and a "icing on the cake" scenario. It seems the general best I can expect is a small incision (if the thing refuses to budge easily I'm ( Read more... )

Aaaaaah!! *HUGS AND HUGS AND HUGS* Oh man, Shy, I really hope it all goes well. I'll be praying for you...

Don't worry about the feeling of going to sleep-- I've been knocked out via that stuff before and you just kind of feel like your eyelids are closing without your control. And then you wake up and everything's done!

Maybe you might get to keep a bit of your mass? (trying to find a bright side aaa)

Still, lots of love from me and positive vibes!!

Sweetie, if you want to cry - cry. It's way better than bottling up negative feelings. If you're scared - say so. Believe me, it's important to communicate your feelings to your family, they can take it. Everything will feel a bit easier with their support, I'm sure. :)
*huuugs* Best wishes to you! Hang on there, dear!

Think of all that you'll gain, babe; against what you are giving up with the surgery. I am so sorry you have to deal with it at all; but yes you most definitely can take comfort from the fact that our own Minekura went through the same thing, and it was not cancer.

You remain one of the sweetest, truest people I have met online. When I think of a lady, I think of you. You personify grace and strength and dignity and kindness. Keep strong and I hope the procedure goes well.

*massive hugs*

Haaa, I am surely not worthy of such gracious words! But I thank you for your kind thoughts.

As for the condition it was something called endomitriosis (not certain on the spelling) and I think it may have been what happened to her...as I experienced similar things.

Hi, I know you don't know me but I just wanted to say it is scary and it is even harder if you can't share because you want to protect your family but actually I found that families can surprise you if you give them a chance. I went in for some surgery several years ago and felt I had to deal with it by myself and protect my mother who is contently on an emotional roller-coaster. In the end I just had to tell her I was horribly scared, needed her stay 'normal' for a week or so and then we could swap roles back again. And amazingly she did. It didn't last long but long enough for me.

Also, being knocked out went way to fast to even think about it in the end. All I remember is them asking me to count backwards from 10. I got to 7 then woke up and realised it was all over!!

May it all go really well for you and a speedy recovery. Let family pamper you too! It seems to help them as much as it helps you for some reason.

I can't share with them.

You're right. It was just falling asleep and waking up. I'm now recovered and making the rounds to thank everyone for their comments. So, thank you.

Well, I was prescribed a birth control that helps prevent such things from occurring but I think I'm going to need to get used to it a bit. It does have benefits though.
