NOTHING WENT TO PLAN!

Left Boynton Beach fucking 8 hours behind schedule. Crashed in the Engineering building of UCF rather than see my best friend, Ashley, in Daytona or see my aunt in Gainesville.

In Tallahassee, on I-10, one of Skip's lugnuts sheared off. Which made the drive to Texas really fucking long because we couldn't go too fast for his tires.

Almost died in Louisiana. Look up LA St Rd 3000. Do it. I bet you $5 you won't find it anywhere on a map. BUT THAT ROAD IS FUCKING THERE. AND IT'S CREEPY AS FUCK! It's a windy road in backwoods Louisiana. The sign on I-10 said that there was gas there. IT FUCKING LIED! We made a right, because making a left just takes you back to I-10, only going east. We passed a rickety old house on the left, and a church on the right. The church had a cemetery attached to it. Creepy sign #1. Fog coming through the trees ominously. Creepy check #2. We passed another old house on the left, with trash outside waiting for pickup. People definitely live here. What's on the right? Another church with a cemetery attached to it. After yet another house on the left and another cemetery church on the right, we turned around all freaked out and found our way back to I-10 West. We got gas at a different exit.

*shivers*

We finally got to Conroe, TX after 24 HOURS OF DRIVING STRAIGHT! We were there for 2 fucking days fixing Skip's car. He needed his transmission mount replaced, along with the rest of the lugnuts. So the 2 days that I wanted to spend driving to CA so that Aubrey could have a vacation in Cali were spent in the middle of nowhere, TX. I mean, it was cool. John and Tara are sweethearts, and John taught me how to drive stick, but it's still annoying.

I was thinking about making a pit stop in College Station, TX, but didn't due to a number of reasons. 1) Time. We already speant too much fucking time in TX. 2) Awkwardness. After spending that much time in Conroe, I wasn't in the mood to feel awkward around my ex boyfriend's new girlfriend. Yeah.. I'll pass.

Got a fucking speeding ticket getting out of Texas. Our speed? 81 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. We were getting passed by fucking semis. Why were we pulled over? Our FL tags, of course. But the cop made a rookie mistake and forgot to put down Skip's model number. That and run his plate. heh.. Loopholes ftw!

Finally made it to Ian's in NM. I love my cousin and his wife, Sarah. It was my first time seeing them since their wedding back in May, 2007. It was Aubrey's first time seeing Ian in nearly 10 years. LOTS of catching up was done. As well as lots of playing Super Mario World on the Super Nintendo while listening to Ian give his guitar lessons in the next room. We're soooooo making a trip out there soon (hopefully). But this time, definitely flying. 12 hour drives are NOT happening for a long fucking time.

Finally made it to Cali last Friday evening. We slept at Alex's house. I drove Aubs to the airport the next morning.

Drove down to Costa Mesa, and found out that there was no way in hell that we were going to be able to afford to move in right now. Oh yeah.. I forgot to mention that OUR LAST JOB FUCKED US OVER BIG TIME!!! Fucking HR gave us the same Exit Interview, only worded completely fucking different. Ugh.. Fuck that place.

Hung out with Angel and his wife, Lindsey, while we were at Villa Venetia filling out the Resident Application. Got kicked out of their apartment by the cops (long story). We spent the rest of the night getting drunk and playing Wii Fit in West Hollywood.

Called Bran up the next day, and here we are. We're staying in beautiful Downtown LA, with awesome as fuck melo and bonobo kids, and having the time of our lives. Our kitties love having more kitties to play with, and we love putting our knowledge of multiple subjects to use to help everyone out.

Florida? Did I ever live in Florida? I could have sworn that I've always been a California girl. Born and raised. I just met my soul. She slapped me for not making it out here sooner.

So, aside from having multiple fights with Skip due to his attitude and taking advantage of me, and having multiple fights with Aubrey, because of her attitude and the fact that we can't spend 24 hours with each other without fighting, this move has been stressful, full of laughs and full of tears.

Now, I need to make sure that next week, I have a full time job. Fuck, this commute is going to be the death of me. =/
