If everything is under control, you are going too slow

You know there's something wrong with you when your entire top 20 most played songs on iTunes is about where best to off yourself and your comfort movie is found in the 1998 space disaster flick Armageddon.

I've decided I needed to watch some more emotionally positive television. This is what actually happened: I watched Dexter, Damages, Ginger ( Read more... )

self-critique, entertainment (tv), pretty people in implausible situations, nerd herd unite!, watch me pretend to be a novelist, entertainment (movie), i am made of sophistication and taste

I have a hate for library books too. I like buying books... though, unfortunately, I don't take as much time studying them before I buy them... *has a huge load of books she's read two pages of and couldn't continue...*

I'm really kinda of crazy when it comes to buying things that aren't clothing related. Unlike clothes, books really just serve once purpose which is to be read and usually only once or twice. And considering the price of a book is the same price as a sundress now a days, it makes buying them kind of painful at times so I always make sure I really, really want that book before buying. And because I write obsessively - each new book brings a new shade and hue to my stories. That's the main purpose of me buying these books - so I can highlight favorite passages, metaphors, ideas, etc. I'm investing in art, which I believe is very much worth it.

I should start doing that, actually. I need to be a more serious writer if I'm going to publish anything at all.

You should! Go read more - it really does help. You inevitably learn style and wording from the books and other things you decide to read which is what makes reading novels so essential for people who wish to write them. I totally support you all the way! :) Tune me in to whatever writing projects you end up doing and stuff like that. I'll gladly help you brainstorm/read over things too. ♥

(Maybe you can think of writing and updating your writing journal again! That's what I'm doing as of late. Or trying to anyway)

We only like library books because we get to read them for free. We do hate the fact that they almost always have taken a beating (stains, etc.) before one of us gets to them. We're obsessive purists when it comes to books: they can't be wrinkled or have creased corners or stains or we either freak out or just put them somewhere until we have to return them.
You write in your books? That's something we could NEVER do O.o"
"Happy Birthday to you, you live in a shoe?" Why the hell would you be having a happy birthday in a shoe? XDD

I do like the "free" aspect of library books but again, I think my ego trumps money at times - I simply must own the book. I don't like borrowing. Any time I read a borrowed book it never really resonates with me - I always feel like something is missing. Not to mention, the fact that the library book is most likely beat up and suspiciously stained really gets my nerves going and I can't stop washing my hands every few pages until I'm just so tired of this entire process I stop reading all together.

College has taught me it is highly beneficial to write in your books and to highlight. I think it gives it a very personal touch. :) I also have no fear in writing in my books because my penmanship has been trained to be extremely good so I don't have a chance of messing up the pages in any way - because if I do, I'd hate myself forever, haha.

IKR? Some kid was singing it today while I was typing it and I was instantly like: WASFLKWTF-WHY. And decided to share it with the world for no apparent reason.

lol books, I buy too many but from the Creative Writing perspective even the bad ones teach you something, so I'm not too bothered by getting ones I don't like. It shows me what I don't like as a reader and should therefore avoid as a writer even if it makes writing the story more difficult at times ( ... )

I totally agree. Bootleg things drive me something crazy. I especially hate getting tricked on ebay into buying bootleg things too. But yeah, I simply need to own things I like.

I hate buying books. There's like an obligation to get your use out of it. idk actually I think I was raised to feel a deep sense of shame for every purchase that I make.

I do like reading things on my computer screen. So. SHOW US THESE STORIES, WOMAN.

Can you park straight?

What if there's a man with a dog?

Lol, I know you hate buying books. Which is why you need to make sure you live near a library when you finally land a house/apartment in the near future or else you'll like, wither and die. D:

Oh, I like reading things on my computer. A lot. I just can't concentrate (because I like to write on the things I'm reading and highlight like, every other sentence). So when it's stuff that's going to be on my next exam it's always wise to head to the printer.

I actually can part straight. But it has to be to my left side. I can't park into a space on my right.

This depends on where the man with the dog is position and just how threateningly colorful his shirt is and whether or not he desires to try and re-teach driver's ed to me whilst frowning appealingly.

And by "part" I totally meant "park". I should not try to communicate with other living things after doing 5 hours of Correlation/Regression Statistic problems.
