If they let Jack Bauer do it his way, the show would just be "12"

Yesterday's post was really not supposed to be a 100% geek-out but my appreciation for Ron Moore's character development ability overrode all other functioning aspects of my mind. Though if anyone managed to catch entertainment news this morning, Virtuality's ratings tanked horrifically (which is really not surprising) despite the fact that the ( Read more... )

Hey, you know you don't have to defend your own opinion just because critics don't agree with you, right? I'm going to hunt down that show and watch it, and even if it isn't as mindblowingly awesometastic as you led me to believe, I'll just know it means that our tastes differ.

Critics never agree with anybody. I just get really frustrated with the entertainment business sometimes because there is some really great potential out there but they get shut down really quickly just because ratings don't match up.

Also because, I don't know about you but personally, I've had the experience (several times) when I recommend something and people have not agreed with my opinion and used it against me in normal every day conversation. (Ugh, those relationships did not end well. Apparently to those friends, having different tastes was a major crime. Now, you witness my rampant self-defensive paranoia as a result).

:( That's awful. But you know, sometimes hearing a good review about something I didn't like previously makes me see it in a different light. It's good to hear what you like/didn't like about things.

I know, right? I totally agree - sometimes if I know that someone else likes something for such-and-such legitimate reason, I tend to be better off when I actually try to watch/read said thing than I would have previous, doing it alone.

(I love how you can tell just by the way I'm typing when I've just finished doing Stats problems - I'm so incoherent).

I love to hear different opinions from the people around me - it's kind of the point, hanging out with different people. Apparently there are some human beings out there that think differently.

Um...also because in Virtuality, there's a talking computer/ship thing? A-and I'm so tempted to now add her into the Enterprise/GLaDOS fic.

Also, have you watched The Big Bang Theory? Because if you haven't you totally should.

YES OMG, I LOVED IT. I have this creepy soft-spot for King Silas, maybe because he's more relatable, though I loved Eli, idk I just really want fic, I've just got so much to write already :P. ILY, YOU GET COOLER ALL THE TIME TOO.

I just dl'd the pilot for Virtuality, so i'll probably be jumping on that bandwagon soon :3
