i cannot resist. i happen to be rather fortunate regarding the location of my living space. there is a man-made ravine, with a little train swapping yard, directly leading to what as far as i can tell, is an unnamed bridge with tracks for two trains

I have the same problem. I have gone out of my way to find railroad crossings that consistently have a train in them on the way to work just so I have a good excuse and some scenery if I'm late. Microsoft Train Simulator is a great game to play on long MAX commutes...

heh, nice. i do not have ms ts, but i do have railroad tycoon 2. it has been way too long since i played that game.
