i strongly disagree with the assumption that ebonics (or as linguistics call it, "african american venacular english") equals stupidity.
to be honest, i'm endlessly fascinated by it. the history behind it is astounding.
the reality is that ebonics are as complex as any other dialects/languages. don't believe me? just off of the top of my head, notorious b.i.g. often employed some of the very same techniques in his raps as the greatly reviered romantic era poet, john keats. also, believe it or not, he enjoyed studying english.
eh. i wanted to say more, but i've a pounding headache. don't take this the wrong way, though. just tossin' in my two. <3
