Cruises are very relaxing, because once you get onto the ship you don't have to worry about /anything/. There are a variety of ports so you don't get bored, but you can always choose to stay on the ship and skip the port excursions if you're feeling lazy. Starting out with a massage at the on-board spa is a wonderful way to destress.

I went on Royal Caribbean, which has really good food and features "freestyle" cruising, which means meals are unscheduled. They also had a murder mystery dinner, which was fun. I have no idea about the kids stuff.

I've really enjoyed cruising in the past.... but which cruise line you go on can make a huge difference. I'd avoid carnival. They try and cater to a younger crowd with less money... so the push more alcohol and the service is not nearly as nice ( ... )
