# 56 -- Parking space stolen

"What the hell?"

"Hi, House."

"Well. It sounds like Wilson, acts like Wilson, even came home to Wilson's place. It just doesn't look like Wilson. What the fuck happened to you?"

"Very funny. Do we have any frozen peas in the freezer?"

"No, we only keep defrosted peas there, remember? Of greater importance is why you've just come in through the door with a shiner that's going to rival the rainbow in about two days. If it was anyone else, I'd say you'd been fighting, but -- "

"I've been fighting."

"Awwwh. Look at that. My widdle boy is all growed up!"

"House, look, I just need to get something on this eye. Could you mock me in the kitchen instead of here in the living room?"

"Hmm. If you're asking to be mocked, maybe you've got a brain injury as well as a black eye."

"Aahh, that's better. God, that man was an asshole."

"I'm an asshole; you don't punch me out."

"Do you really want to know why ( ... )

This was funny and IC and tender and OMG I love keeps_relevant_info!wilson and tender_yet_cussing!house.
The banter. The. Last. Line. LMAO. Dialog-only can easily get dry, but reading this I felt I could not only hear their voices but see their faces, care shining in House's eyes.
[OT: birds here start chirping before 4am. I'm dreaming of pigeon/crow/whatever roast.]
[Even more OT: I hope I'll never live in a condo with a condo security guard.]

Good gracious, it seems as if you haven't slept at all today. Or yesterday, for that matter.

And I'm with you on the bird thing. Here the mockingbirds sing all night long in the springtime. Thank god for earplugs.

I slept about five hours - I can't blame the chirping really, rather it's a full glass of wine plus a UK pint of beer. It's five am and the birds have quieted, so I'll actually try and have a nap now.

Thanks! This is fun -- I may try another one tomorrow, but it's nearly midnight here and I have to work in the morning.

He nearly flattened Mrs. Florio, too."

"That would take some flattening."

You have their irreverent voices down. I always loved the way they used to throw in one liners like this in the middle of more serious conversations. Good job capturing that.

The ending is pure old school Wilson.

You got me. I didn't see that ending coming. I loved the way House is superficially uncaring even while he interrogates Wilson about what happened and gets him frozen veggies for his eye. I loved the end.

This was really freaking hilarious.

"He nearly flattened Mrs. Florio, too."

"That would take some flattening."

LOL!

And of course the last line cracked me up.

Really really great. :)
