Staring through the glass House knew he couldn't hate himself more than he already did at that moment. He'd never imagined that his jump off that balcony into the hotel pool would have affected Wilson as strongly as it had. On the other side of the wall was the bitter evidence that it had. If House had arrived at the loft two minutes later than he had, Wilson's attempt to strangle to death by hanging himself from his balcony would have been successful. In the ambulance with Wilson en route to the hospital House had called Nolan; his insanity had to end before it resulted in his best friend's death.

He turned away from the view and walked to join the psychiatrist, who waited for him at the end of the corridor.
