WotLK and onward...

Yes, I did make it through the weekend...

Overall, what I've seen of the game thus far is pretty damn good - good enough, in fact, to have reborn my desire to play (although not as much as before, since there are more outside things going on).  My biggest surprise, and a little bit of diisappointment, is just how easy it is to level in the game; it's been out for four days, and although I played sporatically, I'm already level 73.  In fact, people started hitting 80 on Saturday on my dead server!  The grind isn't there, the instances are fun and very visual, and the quests (the majority of your xp) are abundant.  In fact, I'm still in the first of the two starting zones!

But it's back to life and back to reality today - I'm at work now, sorting through two missed days of emails.  I do, however, feel quite recharged and ready to go.  It also doesn't hurt that I got a pretty significant raise and bonus on Friday, and I feel much more secure about my job with my new company going forward.  I'd been worried about it for a few months, but with the exception of one more little thing, we look to be good to go.  That's a load off my mind, because that was my main concern over the past few months.

And as for life outside of work and WoW, things continue to get busier and busier.  I bought a printer on Saturday so I can start reviewing scripts at home - before, I was sending them to work and printing the next day, so a script review was a multi-day process.  I've had the money to buy a printer for a long time, but I wanted to get the computer first before I started looking for additional pieces.  Now, writing should be easier - which is good, because it's been tough to do anything lately with everything going on.  Time to get back to writing sketches, shorts, and that ever-elusive feature.

Busy week - the girlfriend and I, in addition to my coworkers, are attending a party in the district for Jose Andres' new show, and he'll be there to hang out and eat with us.  Should be a lot of fun, and we're all getting dressed up for it (plus the coworkers get to meet the girlfriend, and I'm excited for that).  Then Tuesday is WoW night with the gang - I take one night a week for this, a time when my friends and I play together all night.  Wednesday looks to be dinner and a movie night with the girlfriend, and then on Thursday, one of my coworkers is having an art show in DC.  I've never been the biggest person for these things, but the guy's cool and I want to show support for another aspiring artist.  Hopefully one day I'll be asking him to attend one of my movie premiers!

Heh, that requires writing more, and as always, work calls...

general, wow
