Missed the midnight deadline, so you're getting this a little later...

Why?
Honestly, I could have went with any songs off the Flobots CD, especially the amazing "We are Winning," but this is the one that stuck in my head the most. In fact, there was about a 6 week period late in the summer where you heard this every 30 minutes at a club (my friend Steven and I actually tested this at a bar in Raleigh). And why not? The song's catchy, it has a message, and the video is outstanding. But for me, the song was more than that.
If you've been paying attention to this blog over the past few months, then you know hat I was pretty politically active in this past Presidential election. Now, when I say "politically active," I don't mean "post a link from John Stewart or Steven Colbert and point out how silly the conservatives are" type of activity. No, I mean the "donate money, walk the streets, knock on doors, call people, mobilize the fucking force" method of political campaigning that really delivered the vote for President-elect Obama. It was one thing to be "in the know," and it was another to fight, fight, fight against the enemy and work to accomplish our goals.
So yeah, this is the year that I actually started to put some work into those words that I'd said over the years, and man, it was an amazing experience. If you read my post on election day, you know just how exciting things got, and I'm very appreciative that I was here and active in that time. I can honestly say that, in my own small way, I helped to change the world, and I hope that we can keep working and benefit all of us.
