Name that Tune

I tend to do very poorly at those lyrics memes, even when I know the songs in question. I think I'd do better at identifying the songs by their melodies. I'm curious as to what you all think. Can you identify music better by reading the lyrics, hearing the song (without words), or seeing the video (without sound and you can't lip-read)?

Usually I'm better with words. Sometimes I don't even recognize a song if it's been muzacked into submission hard enough.

On the other hand, sometimes I can identify a song based on a tiny snippet of melody or rhythm overheard in a noisy room, or something. It may have to do with how well I know the song.

Often I don't know any of the words to a song, except the main refrain. That may have to do with the fact that I often can't understand the words :)
