This comes from a couple of expierences where I stated something planely and then promply had my statement torn to shreads by someone I respect. Generally whenever I attempt to state something, it comes so mired in qualifications that it is sometimes hard to follow. I've

People are quick to lash out when they think they smell blood in a discussion, as opposed to accepting the spirit of what's being said. Language (or maybe only communication) is imperfect, as you say, but even more importantly, lots of people are assholes. Fuck 'em... say what you want to say, and if qualification is needed, then a statement can be mended. What can't be mended is being an asshole--that generally sticks to someone for life.
