ok i just basically decided i'm going to buy a glock. I got over the ugliness factor. Pretty much the only thing that can reverse this decision now is whether, when I go to some shops and hold it, it feels totally wrong (although I've already been warned that the grip feels like a 2X4... but the advantages outnumber any other semi-auto, from my limited but diligent research on the matter). Havent decided yet whether to go full sized or compact--depends largely on how the full sized one feels. They're both 10 round capacity and cost the same. Also havent decided on 9mm or .40. Again, costs the same. Thus, I'm torn between four models: G17, 19, 22, 23. :) Have any dirt to dish on the gun?

firstly: http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/glock-kb-faq.html

second, have you looked at other pistols along the same line? Personally I have the hots for the springfield XD line of pistols:

On 9mm vs. .40, 9mm is cheaper, but theoretically has less stopping power. If you intend to use the .357 for defense and just want something that is fun and relatively cheap to shoot, I'd go with the 9mm. If you want a bit more stopping power (.40 can be had to have a similar muzzle velocity and slug weight as .45) then I'd go with the .40.

As for compact vs. full size, I don't have much to say other than the compact may fit your hand better and would be more concealable, both of which you already know.
