Hi Jamie Congratulations for the Café Corner, i'm still drooling :) I never heard so many AFOLs claiming that this is the best of all time! A doubt (and i understand if you don't know the answer), why in Portugal and other south Europe Countries, this set is more expensive than the rest of Europe? LBaixinho

Thanks for the compliment! It seems odd that the Euro price can be so different from one country to the next. I've already asked around to find out more and should hopefully have an answer for you within the coming days.

It came last Saturday. Me and Tânia (my wife), built this splendorous set this weekend but with a special characteristic. We toke photos on most of the steps and put on our blog on almost real time with some commentaries. We received emails of people that track our blog every ten minutes for new pics :), and some of then (non-afols) told us that they where going to buy the set :) We are thinking in doing the same with the new Millennium Falcon :)
Looking forward to building this set!!

Hey Jamie,
Congratulations on the release of your set. As I was looking at the draft copy of the BrickJournal article (even without pictures) I was already looking forward to buying and building this set. From what I've seen in the pictures and from the descriptions given in the reviews, I'm sure it's worth every penny.

Heya Allan,
Thank you for your kind words. It was great meeting you at BrickFest this past year. I'm thoroughly enjoying your book. Of course, it's taking me a year to read it on account of my crazy schedule, but it's definitely a fun read.
Jamie, I got to play with a Cafe Corner set yesterday, and it is out-of-this-world awesome. The next time (or should I say the first time) I'm in Denmark, remind me to buy you a beer or three.
I'm going to buy at least two of these at retail price.
I'm going to build this set when I buy it, which I haven't done with a set in years.
And I'm going to keep buying more in this series, since this one will shatter all sales expectations.
Derek
PS--A detailed description of why this set is so exquisite would take forever, so I'll just say: hidden dark blue interior. Wow.
Hehe, thanks Derek. I really hope we can keep this line going for a while. So far, the preliminary excitement is very encouraging!
It's looking more and more like I won't be heading to LEGOWorld this year, but may instead be going to NorthWest Brick Con. What are the chances you'll be heading out that way? Maybe we could grab those drinks while I'm State-side :)
NWBC is pretty far in the future so I can't commit quite yet, but my brother lives up there now so I'm certainly planning on going. I could very well end up in Denmark before then though.
By the way, I bought two Cafe Corners on Tuesday night--haven't had a chance to dig in yet but I did take a picture of them covering one of my Lego room tables...
