Rules

1) This comm isn't super darkity-dark by nature, but nor is it guaranteed to be light and fluffy with rainbow sparkles. So we're asking only that you be 13 or older here--you really shouldn't be on Livejournal anyway, if you're younger.

2) No Mary Sues, please. Really. We don't care how gorgeous, beautiful, lovely, smart, intelligent, brilliant, powerful, strong, incredible, amazing, and overall perfect you think Hermione is, or Sailor Moon, or Miss Piggy--just stick to what their canon says. Hermione cares too much about her academics to be radiantly gorgeous all the time, Sailor Moon isn't strong enough to single-handedly wipe out all evil in the universe, and no matter how much she thinks so, Miss Piggy is not the most charmingly feminine social butterfly to ever grace this earth. We like to recognize the characters we all know and love, so don't distort them like that.

3) Alternate universe versions of characters are allowed, however; someone already being claimed here is no obstacle; just place them in a different universe, if you want the same character, so long as you can recognize their personality. Yes, this technically does mean that there could be fifty Edward Elrics running around, we're aware of that loophole--so please don't abuse this rule. Don't make us get mod-ieval on your ass, because we can and will.

4) Along those veins, please don't powerplay or godmode. For those lucky few of you who haven't read about or stumbled into this yourself, godmoding is acting as though you're God, rather than a mere mun--mostly used in reference to controlling other people's characters without permission. Don't do it, alright? Your character can control lots of stuff in this RP, up to and including the fabric of reality itself, to some extent--seriously, just channel your monomaniacal omnipotence god-complex urges into stuff like that, if you really feel a need to. This suggestion also applies to powergaming, which is acting as if your character is all powerful and thus has the ability and free reign to indiscriminately kick other people's asses. The only people around here who can do that stuff are the mod NPCs, so have your characters suck up to them if they want to make people's lives miserable with impunity.

5) Whatever you do though, remember the rule that ICA = ICC-- or rather, In Character Actions Equal In Character Consequences. If Seto Kaiba tries to punch Wolverine in the face, you'd better believe the guy is risking getting a stomach full of adamantium, rather than the two of them spontaneously deciding to hold hands and skip off into the sunset singing Kumbaya. You and your characters will both be held accountable for what you do, good and bad, so take responsibility.

6) Original characters--they're fun, really. Great to show off and write about. By all means, feel free to write fics with them included and post them on the OOC community. But they're a big hassle to manage in a game like this, so we're not allowing them. I realize that you love Mariella Blanchefleur Vermilion Mozambique Susannah the Pokémon trainer who fights vampires in a giant robot after transforming into a magical girl, but I'm also sure that you can find her a good home elsewhere, too. I also realize that this probably should have gone after or in rule three, but I'm lazy and forgot. Sorry!

7) Okay, so for the characters you CAN have--we're allowing you to have six of them. Right now, there's no limit on how many original-universe versus alternate-universe ones you can have; if there's a problem with this, it might be changed later. Regardless, you're allowed a maximum of three characters from the same fandom, because playercesting isn't much fun for anyone.

8) IC =/= OOC. Or rather, In Character ANYTHING does not equal Out of Character anything. Two characters can hate each other while their muns are best friends, and though less likely, you can think another player is a jerk and still play their significant other. Keep the player drama out of the game, and the character drama out of the playerbase, and everything should be sunshine and daisies in theory.

9) Activity is important. We wants it, my precious~ <3 Without it, the game will die. To that end, we have an activity check once a month, and encourage you to post on at least a weekly basis, though we're not going to hunt you down and harass you if you go eight days without posting. Just try and reply in a timely fashion, and hand over the ring posts, and we'll all keep humming along nicely.

10) If you DO need to leave though, just tell us! We'll be sad to see you gone, but we'll allow it. You can hiatus for up to two months at a time before your activity starts getting counted again. Any longer than that is pushing things, and you'll need to either give the mods a good sob story, bribe us, or preferably both.
