I actually think I just wrote my first real political commentary! I am totally proud of myself, and I would appreciate it if you could check it out: http://sidewayswalker.blogspot.com/. That would be super keen.
that made for very interesting reading. thank you for linking. what interested me most was your talk of "living in a country at war". Iraq, like Vietnam [and, to at least some extent, the Second World War], is a long way from the US, so you are still without first hand experience of war. i doubt the thought of living in a country in which a war was actually taking place would appeal to anyone - i know i am glad to have avoided it. however, many people over here look back on the Second World War with fond nostalgia, so i often wonder if i would do the same if i had to live through it as well.
I never meant war was a game. And I certainly didn't mean that it isn't completely sick and wrong that so many are dying. I never said that I was okay with that either--though, I didn't say that I wasn't exactly. I'm not okay with it, and, frankly, I think there might be something a tad off with me that I am so fascinated, or that growing up I was interested to know how those who lived through war felt. I can't say that I am the only one, but, I do know that any interest I have with war is bitter sweet. I don't exactly like that I am so interested, but, you can't always help who or what you are....
lol, I want too but I dont have a google account and to get a google account, I have to get that stupid cell phone thing where you can see if you have an email on your phone. I dont want that.
