I'm curious

To prep for our honeymoon in Salem / North Shore, MA, I wondered...

Has anyone been there, and do you have "must see" things to suggest?

It's our favorite place in the world! :)

I highly recommend visiting Aromasanctum, as far as shops. The entire older district of Salem is amazing! Whale watching in Rockport is also intensely wonderful. Speaking of Rockport, they have an entire artisan CITY there! You'll love it~ :)

I grew up on the north shore. It all "usual" to me, unfortunately, so I don't have a lot in the way of suggestions, but if you need info or help, just let me know!

The day after the LoTR exhibit in Boston, we were supposed to go the Carver Ren Faire, but unfortunately we got rained out. It was also pretty soggy while walking around Salem. We did manage to eat at a nice restaurant (I think I had a divine portobello mushroom burger) though I don't remember the name of the establishment. I do remember it was overlooking the water and the famous ship that is docked nearby. It had a glass enclosed patio ( ... )

I look forward to going back one day to see some of these. The Pirate Museum sounds cool and they do walking tours too. :)

There are walking tours in Salem, not that the Pirate Museum has them...I guess you would need sea legs for those. Har, har. :)
