You don't buy leather on principal or due to it being of leather, it was too expensive?
I always believe on splurging for that one item that calls to you. If you know that it will be loved and well worn for years to come, it's worth it. :)

oh, I do know the feeling of splurging on something ESSENTIAL! But I don't buy leather on principle. I already have a vintage leather motorcycle jacket that was a gift, so I have a hard time justifying owning more leather. Plus, sometimes, if I think too hard about it, wearing leather just gets gross...

Aww, I understand. I'm of the belief that one can never own too much leather. Not any of that shiny black patent stuff, mind, but rich buttery leather. I guess it's the equestrian in me - everything in our world depends on dead skin. XD
