Your icon made me laugh :) Yup, what Angel needs right now is a friend and I think coming from Buffy (who he could previously 'never be friends' with) it made the consolation a bit more meaningful. Poor Spike does try to be comforting but as you can tell he doesn't always go about it in the right way! And I love writing Fred in all her babblespeak. Thank you for the review!

This really is a great story, and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. You write the characters so well; Angel and Spike bickering, for example, rings really true. And your Gunn really stands out to me. He's a favorite of mine, and I haven't seen a lot of fic that writes him in character.

Knox also extended a hand for their visitor to shake. Buffy simply gave a frown as she regarded him properly for the first time.

Also intrigued at Buffy's lack of destiny. Looking forward to seeing where you take this one!

Again, thank you for the encouraging comments :) Before posting this I was really nervous about writing so many different characters I had never written before, and ironically Gunn was probably the one I was most anxious about! So hearing that really makes me smile. I hope I manage to surprise you with the direction this story goes in...

I do love me some Gunn :) And also those bickering vamps! I actually had to cut quite a bit out of that conversation because it was getting a bit too bicker-y - after all, Spike was only trying to comfort Angel in his own outlandish probably-not-very-helpful way. And of course, the Jonathan Woodward reappearance just begged to be teased about. I wonder if there are any ficlets out there where Spike recognises Knox as the guy he sired just a few short months ago? :D
