so, i survived. but last night was a crying guiltfest for me. m says it gets better after a week, but i'm hoping it just gets better at all ever. i fell asleep and missed my plans last night (still apologizing for that), but i needed the rest. i've got a little cold on top of everything else, and that alone might have required the sleepering

I use sweet foods (read: kiwis and dove ice cream bars) to help me when my resolve lowers and I want to "go back."
but it's different for everyone.
I also find it helps, because I'm a verbal person, to describe the pain. If it feels like "leadweight," i say so, even if just to myself. If I feel like a wet towel, i write "wet towel" in the steam of the mirror, and let the feeling evaporate along with the words.
but, it sounds to me as though you are already heliotroping, making plans, and my suspicion is that, with some hiccups, you are mostly going to feel relief and buoyancy. Your time is all yours again, Sid. It's a gift.
