Finally went through the--omg, six or so drafts of If You Want To Kiss The Sky and pulled out the deleted scenes

I can see why you cut all of this, and I think you were probably right to, but man, it's interesting to see further into his poor maladjusted self. And a little creepy to see all the people who are coping just fine with this universe ...

John's early years were not happy ones. I had it all charted out, John swinging wildly between playing along and closing himself off, back and forth.

I wonder if the happyfunpornytimes remix would actually work, or if it would just be too unbearably creepy and non-con. Probably not.

Yeah, I think not. While I think it's possible for someone to be well-adjusted in this 'verse, that person is not John. :P

I absolutely love this line - it's so perfectly John Sheppard in any universe, but especially in this one.

I love Cadman at the end, totally unbothered by being put with the boys.

Yay, thank you! It would have been really interesting to explore women in this 'verse more, but it would have made it a completely different story.

Oh, thank you for sharing these. I like these extra glimpses of John, (ring like a shield and a chain) and you made me into this. Breaking my heart in so many ways....

The table 9 thing is me making a lame reference to The Wedding Singer. Sort of a catch-all for the people who don't fit anywhere else.

If that bit had made it to the/a finished story, that line probably would have been edited out as it doesn't really add anything.

I love the table 9 ref, I caught it. I think a lot of times, having small non sequitors sprinkled through the dialog makes the character, well. more.

These are all wonderful little tidbits, and thank you for throwing them at us.
