Not sure that that'll make you feel better, but your mom and stepdad are right - a lot of people are going through the same. Some of my close friends have also lost their jobs and have had to go back to their parents' and it's frustrating to say the least. What did you do before the pandemic, is there a way for you to maybe make some money online? Even if it's not enough for the entire month, it might be motivating to at least earn something, contribute something to your family etc. If not, it definitely sucks but you're far from being the only one in this shitty situation.
I work in hospitality, so it’s a little hard to find something in the area at the moment. I’ve been looking for jobs outside of hospitality, but most of them, at least in my country, would rather hire an engineer for a costumer service position than someone who actually knows and worked at costumer service, it’s ridiculous. Honestly? My biggest frustration is that almost all people laid off at the same time as me from the hotel I was working at have a new job already, while I just have to keep on looking and get rejection after rejection.
