Thats the thing I always wanted improved about Fallout. I wanted to be able to actually control my NPCs. You have to intentionally give them crappy weapons so they don't full auto burst you in the ass and kill you while fighting an anemic sewer rat. They finally gave you the ability to control a whole squad in Fallout Tactics... but that game lacked, you know, story. I doubt I'll get to control NPCs in Fallout 3 :(

Yeah, there are. Dogmeat (from Fallout) and one other NPC can be in your party.

If they are using their experience from Oblivion, then yeah, there could be. There were NPCs that would follow you and fight with you in Oblivion. They didn't machine gun you nearly as much as in fallout, either.

Reminds me of Mass Effect. If Shepard dies, game over; Shepard can revive people, but no one else. And you have the option of just telling party members to use specific skills or a certain weapon, but unless you start using the party commands, they aren't going to be smart enough to fire around that wall sometimes.

And there are still a few instant death attacks. Mainly in the form of rockets.

Yeah, and if someone else in the party dies, what happens as soon as the battle is over? They stand up and have 1 HP. There were a couple times I died I'm sure my party could have gone on to win the battle just fine. Blah on that I say.

Sometimes, I'd argue against that point in ME, simply because Shepard tends to be the last one alive or allies are close to death.

Doesn't end the annoyance of rockets to the face, though.

I always ran around in the game because exploring took so freaking long, and on more than one occasion, I ran close enough to enemies that I went into super sprint mode, ran WAY behind enemy lines, and died before my party members could even catch up to me.
