Hey Out There, and a JBG Link

Mar 27, 2014 11:20

Hey y’all. I’ve been really quiet lately, at least on this journal, so I just wanted to stop in and say hi. There are two links at the bottom of the page if you want to skip my blah blah and go directly to them. One is to the story i'm currently revising and posting at my Whiskiegurl LJ and the other is to a JBG interview.

I'm so glad to read your updates, and I'm happy that you'll have time to do what you love and to be near family. I envy your upcoming retirement and I'm sure you've worked hard to get there! I turn fifty this year also, but I expect I'll be working at this university until social security kicks in at 72 :-). Thank you for the JBG link - I'll try to watch it tonight and I know it will bring a smile to me as well!

Retiring at 50.... *sigh*.... that's just a dream for me, unfortunately here we don't have the system of private pensions that allow you to do what you want when you want once you gathered / saved the money ! I will retire at 65.... although I adhered to a private fund, but I don't know yet... keep my fingers crossed.

I'm glad you and your mom got to get over the loss of your dad.... kinda, of course ! I always thought that those that are gone wouldn't want us to suffer too much for them, but to live our lives and remember them fondly !

And I don't have to tell you how happy I am that you're writing again !! There aren't many writers that give us Jake/Heath or Jack/Ennis stories, unfortunately so many gave up theirs... some unfinished !! :(

keep us up-dated, hon and take care !! freedom is so close... ;o)

I am trying to visit LJ more often these days...there's just not enough hours in the day sometimes but I always find things (and people) I like here so I am trying to get here more! I'm glad to see this post from you and actually just saw that you are posting a rewrite of SWY on your other journal...I'm going there next to download it to my kindle...yay!! It is very nice to hear about you and your mom...I can't say that "time heals all wounds" is 100% accurate but, in my experience - including with death of a loved one - time certainly helps a lot. I'm glad as time passes you are continuing to do better and that is very exciting about early retirement (and very smart about the keeping busy part as it sounds like you already know)! Thanks for the update and thanks for the new/old story...can't wait to read what you've done so far...J&H still do it for me and probably always will. And happy birthday to darling Heath...still makes me so sad though. *sigh* --Lisa/BBMISwear
