Wow, I was so surprised to get an email alert that you'd posted something... and then disappointed that it wasn't a new BBM fic. I had to search around to find my LJ password to reply. I haven't written anything since September 2014 and haven't explored any other fandom. When I finished my last story I had big plans to write something original, but then I got involved in other things. I wonder if anyone has written a fic set during the pandemic...

i've thought some about pandemic fic, but i hate it, and i don't want to write or read about it. lol. however, i'm sure some folks will write some excellent pandemic fics. i don't even know what fandoms are active right now. i read some in supernatural, stargate atlantis, hawaii 5 oh, and Thor/Loki. good stories in each of them, but i could never get a feel for writing in them. im only able to feel stories thru J&E.

i'm writing a bit; if i keep going, i'll try to post some soon. i'm trying to take time away from my volunteer job as a rescue coordinator and have some fun. fingers crossed i will be able to continue on, as i'm really enjoying it so far.

thanks for checking in. take care and i hope to see you back here soon. :)

I hadn't read any for a long time and decided to come back and check it out. Thanks so much for the hours of enjoyment you've provided with your BBM universe. Sorry to hear your life has gone off the rails. Hope it's back on soon.

thank you. i got caught up in rescue work and it consumed me for a couple of years. it was good work but i need a break and a distraction. writing was always good for that and i'm hoping it will be again. :)

yes, our fandom has really stalled out. of course, it's been 15 years since the movie, so that's understandable. i still love the stories tho, and of course the boys. i will always love them. <3

Just stopping back in to point out an article I read yesterday, regarding the way the movie was filmed and how it continually showed the distance between Jack and Ennis. It had a lot of valid points, but yet, I wonder how closely the gal that wrote the article actually watched it, as she mentions the Thanksgiving dinner where Jack and his step-father bicker. You might enjoy taking a few minutes to read it.

Helllooooo to you!
I'm one of the recent newcomers to Brokeback Mountain that luvenck mentioned, I've had a great time catching up on all of the great stories through the years. Especially in the face of the past nine months when absolutely everything's gone crazy, they've brought me some fine escapism (it looks like the heyday of BBM was such an innocent yet exciting time). Also, since I've learned more about Heath and come to truly appreciate just how tragic his passing was, J/H stories (I especially like your story Alone) have been a comfort.
Nice to see you're still around!

Hi. It’s nice to hear from a newcomer. This past year has definitely been a good time to indulge in some escapism!! What a mess. And i agree with what you said: our fandom heyday was a very innocent but exciting time. For the most part, we had a very sweet and devoted group who loved both the story and the actors. We had very little drama and everyone was supportive of each other. Or at least, that was my experience. It was definitely one of the best times in my life in many ways. Heath’s passing was such a horrible shock to all of us, and it definitely had a huge impact on the future of the fandom, as so many folks just couldn’t participate anymore. I still wrote for a long time after he died and I’m glad i was able to. I definitely wasn’t ready to let go yet ( ... )
