Time Warner is doing some money grubbing of its own; they pulled many music videos, including those of the Dresden Dolls (a band with little to no promotion from their label), from Youtube because they weren't getting enough licensing money.

I do believe I called Time Warner an evil empire in it's own right and let's face it, the Dresden Dolls are never going to be "big" no matter how much you promote them because their sound just isn't accessible to the ears of the mass audience but what Viacom did was particularly heinous. And Viacom has pulled every video that ever had the tiniest bit of Viacom copyright material in it from YouTube. I'm not judging this incident by the past performances of these companies. It's just that I was passing by Nickelodeon, and there's a scroll on the screen telling the kiddies that they won't be able to watch Spongebob tomorrow unless mommy and daddy call Time Warner and complain. I guess all is fair in love and war but I don't like being manipulated like that one bit.
