This post is brought to you by my deep, deep love of Spiderman. I just bought the dvd of the first movie because it was on sale for $10 at the grocery store, and seeing it again reminds me how much I love this movie, and this superhero myth, and how I saw it over and over in Europe in various languages and it was from that that I developed my own ( Read more... )

It makes me feel a wide range of emotions in a short time that results in a sort of bigness - a solidification of my place among everything - my part of everything.

I love it when other people express what I feel but can't put into words. Yes, that is exactly it. I am so, so glad you love it as much as I hoped you would - I was listening to it one day and I just got this flash that I had to send it to you - it was a song you had to hear.

If anyone else is interested in this song which is the yardstick of my life, plus another hour of good music, send your address to me and I'll send you a cd. It was custom made for Allison, but I'm sure she wouldn't mind sharing.

October is too late, I'll need to have gotten a job by then. Is early September any good? Burning Man ends September 4th, so it would be right after that.

You got it. Oh, I just talked to my best friend (she who is getting married) and apparently, without telling me, she made the reservations for bridal gown shopping at 3:00, and any earlier and her dad can't come. Is there anyway we could meet late afternoon to evening? You could totally crash in camarillo, or I could borrow a car (I hope) and drive down to where you live and we can work there. Oh, are you living with your cousin yet?

Thanks babe. I miss you. Show me all the sights and spots of Brooklyn, and maybe we can even see Hamell perform.

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful and mysterious woman. She lived by her heart and with her instincts and left behind her a path of laughing friends and satisfied lovers. One day she realized she had seen and experienced all the west coast could offer her, and it was time for her to explore new territory and wrestle new challenges. Also there was a boy, which was a new experience but one she embraced. So our mysterious maiden did what many are never brave enough to do - she packed up all her belongings and set out for the world unknown. She moved into a big, scary city, where she put down her tender and hesitant roots. The boy did not last, but this journey was never about him really, and the maiden moved forward, finding ways to succeed and blossom on her own terms. Sometimes the coldness and harshness of the city chills her bones, but she knows it is no match for her. And she will continue to move forward - finding her way, facing challenges, and satisfying lovers.
