A) I don't think whatsisface is actually Deep Throat. I mean, it's so fucking anticlimatic. He's just like, YEAH SURE I'M REALLY IMPORTANT AND SHIT, WHATEVER.

B) I think that's the closest House comes to being heartwarming. Also, the most, um, Sherlockian? Is that a word? If it's not, it should be ( Read more... )

hildegard von bingen is classy, but not classiCAL. and Peter and the Wolf is awesome. and this one dude who made this computer manipulation cd called Angels and Insects. awesome. but not classical.

Mozart and Brahms and Beethoven tend to be pretty catchy, but then SPEAKING OF GAY they start out all cool, but there there are all these fluty violin I'm Playing For A Court segments, and i'm like 'whatever, fag.'

i do listen to some classical, but on the radio, so i never know what it is, or remember what it sounded like two seconds after i heard it. like this shit. i never know what they're playing, but it usually sounds pretty cool. alternately new wavey synth mesmer type shit, sleezy-ass jazz, bona fide classical, and people arguing in slavic.

for the rest, see my published words.

do i really talk about the music i listen to? BESIDES TOM TOM CLUB OBVIOUSLY BUT THAT'S GABRIEL'S FAULT. i'm not Toni. David Bowie isn't tattooed to my face. i thought i only talked about the music i hate. not that i'd be able to make a list like this accurately anyway, but i'm still quite offended, you cunt!

charmingly ethnic? as in baltic polka? (gaja doesn't actually know black people/culture, she just adores both superficially from afar).

"Walk on by" by isaac hayes- Clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever clever. Clever.

"It was a very good year", by someone-
I’ve liked this song since I was a “young” “child”, and lately I’ve been trying to find a “good” “version” of it. Which is surprisingly difficult. “Usually” the only version that comes up on a soulseek search is by frank Sinatra. That version is mucked up/bogged down by the strings in the backroun, which are, duh, spiritually repugnant.
Before soulseek's faulty search function crushed my dreams and violted my virgin flesh I wanted to make a UFO or DIE/very good year mixtape, in the style of that melt banana/moon river mixtape I gave unto you. I still want to make a "yesterday"/Shock City Shockers mixtape, a "Mcarthur Park"/boredomes mixtape, a "Walk on By"/ooioo mixtape Et Cetera
On a marginally related note, I “<3” making up my own verses to "it was a very good year. “when I was thir er teeeeeen/it was a ( ... )

postulate: i will do something unvague. i will not make it even a little bit vague.

1. Genesis - the first track on 'Selling England by the pound,' 'Dancing with the moonlit knight'

2. Sigur Ros - 'Staralfur'

3. Cocteau Twins - 'Fotzepolitic'

4. Sneaker Pimps - 'Low five' (actually, can't decide: either this or 'Lightning field')

5. A song from the Cirque de Soleil soundtrack, 'Alegria'

6. A Romanian song, i forgot the title AND the singer's name. lame.

i think. not that i'm pretentious or anything. no. nope. no way.

Mmmm, Genesis and Cocteau Twins. Good call.

(Are your journal posts quotes or original material? Because I run a quote emporium (http://chaordic.blogspot.com) and some of your stuff caught my, as they say, 'fancy'.)

hmm. most of the times i put quote marks to signal anything i didn't write. but i'm not known for my constancy. so i might have quoted something without doing that. tell me what you want and i'll tell you. lately, i've been mostly quoting things from the nytimes.

also, genesis was the first one i came up with. glad you approve.
