Okay. Yeah. So...
When will Reid EVER learn not to go off by himself? It does NEVER lead to anything good. BUT there was a distinct lack of poor swufewing Reid, and the team wasn't excessively worried about him, like they are prone to be when there's something up with him, which was good. Reid was capable, and the team, with some prodding from Hotch, kept their eye on the ball.
JJ, in this ep, was incredibly believeable. She wanted to spill the beans - and if the Great Cajun Mumbler had picked up the phone, maybe she would have. Hotch was... Hotch. He didn't spill in Lessons Learned, and he didn't spill now. The diametral between him and JJ was nicely built, even as it looped back into a parallel at the end when they both called their kids. It's worth noting, though, that in Lessons Learned he let himself be talked into calling Haley, but she didn't pick up. Of course, there was a more clear and present danger there, but still. He's shut down far tighter now.
I also found it interesting that JJ came by while Hotch was on the phone. Her office is outside the bullpen, so she went out of her way, my guess is she wanted to talk to Hotch. Like in Birthright, Hotch and JJ are both contrasting and parallel, and he's who JJ will turn to.
Emily's aversion to lying... Nice. Just that.
Also, massive LOLs and mocking at Rossi's Alpha Male comment - because hey, between himself, Hotch and Morgan they've got the place pretty much covered without the help of today's supporting cast, too.
