I go to a tech school if anyone's forgotten. The ratio overall is 3 guys to 1 girl I believe. Within colleges, engineering and computer sciences have the worst, maybe 7:1 or summat. It's like a High Tech on steoids, as Pete would say. I'm used to having mostly male friends, it's no sweat adjusting. What I'm not used to is guys not talking to you ( Read more... )

Ah, you know I probably did such things, but the intention was not at all to care about hooking up. What the real problem is,(pretty dumb too) I'm more afraid that the boyfriend will think I'm flirting with his girl or something. Funny how the impression you don't want is the one you get. What really makes it tough is when the girl has similiar interests while the guy does not....throws the whole social balance out of order. Ah, but I was younger and dumber back then...still learning now. Maybe it's easier to be friends with the guy first, then the gal...*shrugs*. Still trying to figure stuff out.
You know, it's easier to talk to people when you care about your career first. Talking is still difficult though.

Well, that's not what he claimed to me the next day... He said the motivation behind the conversation you had was more to do with you both being sober. Who knows, really. Personally, I try to talk to any female I can find at RIT whether or not they're currently dating. Can't begin to care! Talking with a female is such a refreshing, rare experience at RIT, so I enjoy it at all times (slight sarcasm here, if you're wondering). But yeah. Um... Just thought I'd defend "the guy" cause he probably didn't care much either way as well. But yeah, most guys, you may have something here. Integrety... doesn't usually go hand in hand with a chance to date a female at a Tech school.
