Honking at ambulances (in the process of picking up a sick person) to move out of your way is not cool. Getting into a fight with the driver of the ambulance?!?!? Where precisely do you you need to get to in such a hurry on a one-way street in MONTI???? Honestly? Angry feminists piss me off. Or maybe that just means I spend too much time on the internet. These people bitching and moaning about everything under the sun has managed to turn me OFF caring about issues. I swear, I'm going insane! It's like the boy who cried oppression: can't you guys do something useful(like a petition, at least? I'm not asking for a world wide campaign here...) instead of making ridiculous objections to everything? I mean, when you cry about how there aren't enough black women (!) in a show based in medieval England, no one will take you seriously when you raise a serious, real life, issue. /rant

(sorry had to get that of my chest)

more importantly: no sordid tale of terrible driving in Italy will ever surprise me. Ever. (you have seen this, haven't you?)

also, I'll probably be in Rome from the 16th to the 20th of July, any chance of meeting up?

I hadn't actually seen that video. I agree with most of it, though not 100%. Regarding bureaucracy, I still think the best example can be found here -- of course, they're talking about the Hapsburg Empire, but it's pretty clear when you see the entire episode, which someday I will track down, that it's actually talking about Italy.

Of course, in reality the spontaneous act of mercy would normally take months or years to happen. But that wouldn't fit into an episode.

Someday, I think I'll write a book about my permesso di soggiorno.
