I'm interested in reading your answer for what kind of a neighbor you are. I hardly have any interaction with my neighbors (unruly kids that they've come over and apologized with and lost/escaping dogs) are minimal. I wish we had more interactive community, but I'm also not sure if that's more what you see on TV and less in real life.

I have lived in my current house for many years, and got to know neighbours because of kids and pets. I think that helps a lot, though I still don’t have a lot of interactions. Mostly just casual chats if someone happens to be outside.

My garden is pretty scruffy, and I mostly like it that way.

Haha same here. But otherwise I'm a quiet, friendly and helpful neighbor, so what more can one ask?

Aw groundhogs don't live here so I'm not sure what kind of a pest they are. Are they annoying? What do they do?

I think they are kind of cute (fat, waddly, plant-eaters). They do eat garden vegetables if they get into your yard, and dig holes that can be dangerous if you or your horse catch your foot in them. In my case, it dug underneath part of my house.
