Congress, at the behest of the Administration, appears to be on the verge of passing a $700 billion bailout package for Wall Street. Yes, the economy is in trouble, and something needs to be done, but this is the wrong way to go. I think the current government is the closest we've had as a society to take advantage of the fact that people are self-centered schmucks. I believe it started unraveling when corporations gained rights normally given to flesh and blood individuals. Grossly simplistic description, but there you go.

Current government should have read "As set up by the Constitution" instead. Not the Bush Administration.

corporations have always had the same rights (less than more, more than less) than humans. you can thank the english for that one. old english common law. prolly lloyds of london had lobbyists at parliament in the 1400's ( ... )

We're also have no time to dork about the issue. Those against haven't proposed any alternatives. Right now it's the proposal which may or may not work, or nothing...which will definitely be everything bottoming out.

see, that's what i think. i'm an armchair economist at best. but, seeing it's the only solution we have right now, we should at least try. cos, i'll tell you, the house GOP proposal of corporate tax cuts isn't gonna help anyone except warren buffet.
