Maybe we don't talk about them because we don't want people to know about them. Because if people knew about them, it would make things weird...and we know there is no way they're going to come true. Not anymore anyway.

But why does not talking about your wish make it come true. If nothing else, doesn't it help make it come true, because people can influence the course of events so that you do get into the school that you want, or go to a specific event, or get a puppy, or whatever the wish is?

On the other hand, people can squash your dreams if you share. When you say you want to go to event XYZ, then people can tell you that you aren't smart enough, aren't good enough, aren't strong enough, and you might internalize it, I suppose.

I do believe that it's the Freudian view on dreaming that says that dreams are the road to the subconcious. Unfortunately, I'm the type who never remembers her dreams. My subconcious does not speak to me.

::Beats you with a large book on psycho-analysis::

Unconscious. Unconscious. Unconscious.

Actually, most people have many dreams each night, or a dream in many parts, so people only remembers certain parts of a dream.

*laughs*

I typed Unconcious at first, and then changed it. Damnit! My high school psych teacher is probably going to come back and beat me, too.

Yes. I must dream heavily during stage 2 and 3 of sleep, but I never remember those dreams!

Perhaps what it is that you wish for is so very repressed you are not allowing it to surface.
