Today, while reading Weber, I ran across an unusually named historical figure. Fine lj folks, let me introduce you to...Praise-God Barebone.

I love it. Not only does his name sound like it's straight out of Mason & Dixon, but, read differently, it also carries the unintended suggestion that he's a Satan-worshipper. Why don't modern ( Read more... )

Right. I forgot that in addition to being vengeful, angry, and jealous, the evangelical God's also humorless. Makes sense.
