So which is it? shifted or sifted? your survey sounds fun. then again i dont see how responding to its questions would at all change my paradigm. I feel how I feel...sometimes this is a temporary feeling, sometimes a permanent one. sometimes its not a feeling at all....i dunno, maybe i'm shift-less. but then again, maybe not.

Well I must say that what we at A Higher Ape are trying to pull of is of a large and unpredictable scale. The idea is to plant seeds of spontaneity in the minds of the people we come across. When we say:

The draperies are blue.

How do you feel about that?

What we are looking for is an answer that is hopefully unusual and hopefully creative, be we are certainly willing to settle for less.

When I said that the survey was a sifting experience I meant just that. I had sifted through a random, scatter-shot sampling of that young lady's mind-scape. In another sense of the word I was trying to, in some cases succeeded, separate the fine modes of her thought from the more coarse and bland modes.

The trick is that the person who is taking the survey makes it as useful as they wish it to be as a single experience. I personally believe that when one takes something like this survey and uses it as a bounce board for the creative process, they too will do this with more things in life.

Sifting away,
As always,
Jake

Hmm, I dunno. I know certain people that when I ask them a random seemingly purposeless question similar to those in your survey that some people do in fact use the question as a spring board toward saying something indeed creative and often much more profound than my original question. Then there are others that haven't a clue what I am getting at and look at me (as often people do) like I'm completely insane. And maybe I am but often I think If I weren't than I might not have any drive to strive for what i find meaningful in life. So my point I guess is: don't you think people might always respond to your questions as their typical personality/character would predict, some with profound or creative answers, some with nothing at all and that this might not ever change for some people? I have friends that will always find me crazy and some that will always jump at the chance to dabble in somewhat abstract conversation and then I have friends that are very much inbetween. Maybe your survey will have an effect on a "large and ( ... )

Look, unless you're some kind of personality robot, if something unexpected happens, you can't react to it in an expected way. I mean, if your responce to a cow that falls from the sky and explodes three feet before hitting the ground is "typical" then you have to tell me what that is, because it's probably pretty fucking crazy.
The idea here is that, no matter what, if someone hears something they never thought possible, or at least didn't think they would hear, then they will think something that is outside they're usual range of thinking, even if they're responce is within the bounds of their personality/character.
