I am having problems taking pictures that are not grainy. I am not sure if it is because I have a bad camera (which I don't think I have, even though it is cheap), I'm not a particularly experienced photographer, or because it is too dark here, all the time

I know I used to little light though, I really can't take picture in the afternoon/evening here, this time of the year as it is completely dark.

Also in Photoshop there is a setting under Filter/Noise/Despeckle which can
get rid of noise, grain etc. in your image.

I'll take your advice and check it out later! My friend, Skumring, who is a photographer fave me some neat tips on how to make my pictures look better, but I forgot most of it, since I have the memory of a gold fish (if they in deed do have bad memory), also, those pictures were taken outdoors, on a rather bright day, so the issue there was more the colours being a bit dull.
When I get home, and settled, I will definitely try and set up a set with more lamps, then use the program thingy I downloaded and look at that filter, to see if I can produce better results.
