Writing a syllabus is much harder than you have ever imagined. Figuring out what an undergrad is capable of is difficult. I have never been an average student. How do I know what to assign. What is easy for me as a grad student could be hard for an indergrad futhermore my experinece at MSU is nearly worthless bc they have different standards for ( Read more... )

just for options; in most of my classes as a masters student, the undergrads had the same exact requirements for the most part: from tests, reading expectations, discussion participation and daily writing assignments. The only difference was that we had an extra 10-page research papers taking a previous calss discussion topic to "the next level of discussion". We were also given extra mini writing assignments throughout the semester. Good luck. When in doubt : never underestimate the potential of your target audience. Remember: You are there to challenge and teach them new concepts and ideas.
