Ehm, wow, Bleach fandom is a lot scarier than I thought. I'm ever so glad my ships are tiny, cracky, or otherwise undesirable. Were they not, I fear the consequences.

That is all. *hides behind Mayuri, who is sure to never be shipped with Ichigo overly much*

bleach, fandom

It's amazingly scary, that's why I'm trying to avoid it lately.

I think I'll just stay here and write odd ships, occasionally dabbling in more general pairings and not caring at all about what the masses are doing.

Who needs popular ships when you have Kenpachi and Nanao to ship with everyone?

I do have some ships that are 'popular', I guess. But I still don't need to deal with the rest of fandom. At this point I'm not even wanting to post icons at coms, the wank and fantard-ishness is so high right now.

Oh, God, there's been wank with icons too? What happened? I think I'm going to pretend nothing happened, because they don't deserve to disrupt things, but there are certainly some communities I wont be adding to my flist.

edit: icons towards them, not you. XD

I just hate fandom wank in general. It's almost everywhere. I miss Ace Attorney/Phoenix Wright (where it was pretty much JUST Phoenix/Miles) or Hetalia fans where everyone is pretty much a fandom bicycle. Xd

It really makes you want to stop writing or producing fan anything when people get to be such children about things.

It's strange, because with the huge cast of available characters, I was sure there would be no wank about who was paired up. It sounds crazy. (Ack. At one point I actually thought that Ichigo/Orihime would be worth exploring. How glad I am that I didn't go that far. *shudder*)

I love fandom bicycles. They work well with anybody. (Mine are Zaraki and Nanao. They're always hilarious.) And you're right. I'm so glad people don't give a crap about the pairings I write.

Ichigo/Orihime is my super secret canon! OTP

Otherwise I can't really stand Ichigo with anyone Xd

I really should write more crack ^^;

Don't quote me on this - ever! - but I prefer Ichigo/Orihime over Ichigo/Ru- that other popular pairing. *looks around shiftily* I thought it had the potential to be adorable, back then, and still kinda do. However, all the drama has herded me even more towards the shinigami and less towards the residents of KT.

Same here.*grin*

Oh, yes, you should!

Oh lord, like a week or two ago I was going to post something similar to this because I was utterly perplexed by a pairing debate thread for Naruto *megafacepalm* To me, it's equivalent to the fanboys and their power level/tiers debates. It can get absolutely frightening!

Even though I love IchiHime, I'd actually prefer Ichigo to end up with no one. I can't see a point to a love confession from him. Even at the end, I can't imagine it anything but awkward (at this point, anyway)

(Has Mayuri EVER been shipped with Ichigo O___o?!)
...okay, I saw it once before D:

I've seen it too. D: Along with Mayuri/Gin, Mayuri/Aizen, Mayuri/Ishida, and Mayuri/Kenpachi.

Urahara/Mayuri and Mayuri/Nemu seem to be the most popular?

OH GOOD LORD YOUR ICON ;_______;
(it's kind of amazing and totally appropriate to the topic at hand >:D)

I've seen all of those except for Mayuri/Gin (which I am now eerily compelled to google...)

Urahara/Mayuri and Mayuri/Nemu seem to be the most popular?

YES!YES!YES to the first, and NO!NEVER to the second :P

90% of Bleach shipping drama revolves around IchiRuki vs. IchiHime and UlquiHime vs. IchiHime. And even within those ships it's possible to steer clear of the wankier elements.

See, GinRan is such a lovely ship---small and quiet and non-controversial. ;)

Bleach does have a merry, thriving fleet of yaoi and yuri ships.

As long as you avoid certain communities, it seems. XD I'm just ever so glad that my initial interest in Ichigo/Orihime didn't last. I can't imagine how annoying it must be to constantly avoid the wank everywhere.

Haha, yes. Though, granted, I'm sure there has been Gin/Kira vs Gin/Rangiku wank before. It's just not big, because we're all in the same boat. We support a small ship, so why would we begrudge anyone what we would like for ourselves as well?

Thank God for that.

I'm sure there has been, too. Though--personally--I think they're both supported by canon, and does anyone really think evil Gin is the monogamous type???

(I don't ship Gin/Kira myself, but Gin/Aizen? Yes, please!)

There are many Bleach pairings that have some basis in fandom. And yet none are canon. (or, well, canon and still alive. Becoming a canon pairing seems detriment to a character's health.) I can see reason for Gin/Kira, Gin/Matsumoto, and Gin/Aizen. XD

(I've seen some good Gin/Kira. I prefer it when Gin is being manipulative and just using Kira's affection for him. I also ship Gin/Rangiku, but I think that's obvious. Aizen, not so much, but that has nothing to do with Gin. I've just never enjoyed Aizen fic too overly much.)

It's for this reason why I avoid the popular het ships like the plague, even though I do think there is more canonical evidence for IchiRuki (especially in Burimyu) than IchiHime. Shipping wars are scary and mostly centred around Ichigo, Rukia, Orihime and Ulquiorra.

Er... are you sure hiding behind Mayuri is a good idea? He is a sadistically evil scientist who has no problem with turning his own subordinates into living bombs. And all the Captains in my fic (which is non-shippy) are looking for him with the intention of killing him (as he resists arrest, of course).

My current OTP in Bleach is Byakuya/Yumichika. Don't ask.

It's crazy to see this unfolding. That particular 'war' still does my head it. It makes no sense to me. (Granted, I can see 'canon evidence' for both pairings. Especially from Orihime, who has basically admitted her love for Ichigo.)

Oh, from what I've seen being experimented on by Mayuri is infinitely preferable to the bashing you'll get from certain people if your ship doesn't agree with theirs.

Hah! Hey, I'm writing Zaraki/Nanao and Byakuya/Nanao. Ships don't always make sense. (And, heck, it's both het! I'm not sure what is wrong with me. XD)

I can see one-sided Orihime->Ichigo, but I can't see him noticing it enough to reciprocate. And this war is silly, I agree. Live and let live, I say. There's no point in arguing with someone just because they interpret canon differently from you.

Well... the Ichigo in Devil would probably disagree with you there. Then again, he is a broken mess right now. But I would have to agree that I would rather take my chances with Mayuri than the rabid section of fandom.

Zaraki/Nanao? I've seen one fic with that pairing in the past, but it's discontinued. I'd love to see yours :D

Meh, I really can't see Ichigo noticing anything that isn't completely obvious. He's pretty much a socially-retarded idiot, though a lovable one.

;)

Yes. I posted an unfinished chapter not too long ago, to get some feedback on my 'Nanao-voice', but it's far from finished yet. If you're interested, you can see it here. It doesn't have any Zaraki yet, but it's there. *grin*
